Valentine's Day at Garozzo's

For Valentine's Day, my husband and I went to our favorite Kansas City restaurant, Garozzo's. It is an amazing Italian restaurant that has 4 locations in the Kansas City area. We usually go to the downtown location, which has a really cool old school Italian feel to it, but this Valentine's Day we went to the location in Overland Park, Kansas. Also a great location.

We go to this restaurant all the time, and usually order some type of appetizer. The toasted raviolis or calamari are my favorite. This time, however, we bypassed appetizers and just ordered a plate of the Tortellini Gina to share. The Tortellini Gina is by far my favorite dish at Garozzo's. I was totally planning on ordering it as my main dish, but I didn't eat very healthy that day, and felt like it might be too heavy. I always regret not ordering it when we go there, however, so sharing an order of it with my husband ended up being perfect.

For my main dish, I thought I'd try something new. I ordered the Bistecca Salerno, and it was amazing. The Bistecca Salerno consists of an 8 oz filet with mushrooms, garlic, onion, and goat cheese, and topped with a spicy cognac cream sauce. Seriously. Amazing.

If you ever make it to Kansas City, and you love Italian food, you should make your way to Garozzo's. You won't be disappointed.
